Gli snowboard sono delle tavole che somigliano ad un ampio sci in grado di scivolare sulla neve. Coloro che usano tali tavole sono chiamati snowboarders. Oltre alla tavola sono necessarie anche altri accessori che assicurano comodità, agilità e sicurezza nello sciare.
Descrizione delle tavole da snowboard
Ci sono diverse forme e misure di snowboards che dipendono dalla persona che li usa, dai livelli di abilità, dalle condizioni della neve dello snowboarding e dagli stili. La lunghezza media dello snowboard varia da 140 a 165 cm mentre la larghezza media varia da 24 a 27 cm. Tuttavia vi sono anche particolari tipi di snowboard per bambini che hanno misure più piccole o altre tipologie di tavole realizzate per particolari scopi agonistici o di performance.
Caratteristiche generali di una tavola da snowboard
Lo sviluppo commerciale delle tavole da snowboard ha visto l’uso di legno laminato in mezzo a multipli strati di fiberglass. La base dello snowboard è fatta generalmente di varie parti di plastica ed è circondato da un sottile strato di alluminio conosciuto con il nome di edge o angolo. La parte superiore dove può trovarsi una parte grafica stampata può essere fatta di acrilico.
Il primo snowboard fu inventato e costruito nell’Utah, negli Stati Uniti nei primi anni 70 ed è stato commemorato nel 2007 negli Stati Uniti.
